What We Found
The RSPB launched ‘Saving Nature’, an ambitious, new corporate strategy looking ahead to 2020. While the initial launch had created considerable ‘buzz’, it had also created some uncertainty and confusion about what lay ahead and how staff and volunteers could play their part in it.
Smart Brand Thinking
The RSPB needed an engaging way to involve its internal and external stakeholders in a discussion about future policy and priorities and what it meant for them. We worked with scarlettabbott on a ‘Big Picture’ exercise. This involved a highly visual representation of the RSPB’s work – past, present and future – supported by a range of tailored discussion guides and stimulus material.
The Big Picture was a big hit with staff, volunteers and partner organisations. It proved highly effective at prompting discussion, drawing out ideas and increasing understanding of the charity’s vision and ambitions. In doing so, it succeeded in engaging participants in shaping how they could contribute to the changes ahead and building confidence in the process and priorities.
“Paul is skilled and quick to turn big picture thinking into action. He has a deep understanding of communication and engagement challenges, and is supportive and highly enjoyable to work with.”
